Meet Dr. Leah Meadows

The Chiropractor To See In Kirkland

For years I suffered with terrible headaches. It wasn't until one of my friends suggested chiropractic, that I got any relief. I was oblivious to the benefits of chiropractic care.

I was attending the University of British Columbia and finishing up my Bachelor of Science degree to continue on to dental school. My headaches were so severe that I was forced to miss school and even seek the help of my medical doctor for prescription pain medication. This is the point in my life when a friend of mine suggested I see a chiropractor and my life's path changed. My headaches were a thing of the past and I felt better than I had in years. I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life.

I moved to Portland, Oregon to attend Western States Chiropractic College. WSCC has been a leader in evidence-based chiropractic care, and has long encouraged an integrated approach to health. This is where I met my husband and partner in practice, Dr. Jeremy Meadows.

I have completed many post graduate adjusting technique courses including CBP, and Torque Release (an instrument assisted technique) which gives me the ability to tailor my adjustment style to the patients specific needs. Currently I am in training through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association for a Diplomate in Pediatrics and I am fully certified in the Webster Technique.

We are a family practice and we love helping people of all ages, from infants to grandparents and even great grandparents! We work with pregnant patients, auto accident victims, athletes, people who want to get out of pain, and people who want to stay healthy.

A few years ago I was seriously injured snowboarding and suffered a compression fracture in my mid-back. Yes, it is ironic, the chiropractor who broke her back. Through chiropractic care and exercise I have been able to make 100% recovery and less than 2 years later have a baby. I didn't even have any back pain throughout the pregnancy!

I continue to receive chiropractic care once a week. It is the best way I know to keep my body working at it's highest potential, a healthy nervous system, a happy body! Not only do I promote a holistic approach to healthcare to my patients, but I make a healthy diet, stress reduction, exercise and chiropractic care a part of my family's lifestyle as well. Our young daughter's first adjustment was on the day of her birth. We have been very fortunate that she has rarely had even a sniffle...unlike most children her age.

Enough about me! How can we help you with today’s safe and natural chiropractic care? Give us a call so we can help you take your first step towards better health.

Dr. Leah Asks some important questions of interest to Kirkland residents - Chiropractor Kirkland Dr. Leah Asks...

What is the purpose of pain?
Pain prompts many Kirkland folks to begin chiropractic care. But pain isn't the problem! Pain is just how your body alerts you that a limit has been reached (or exceeded), that something isn't working right and that some type of change is needed. As a chiropractor, my job is finding the underlying cause and recommending the changes needed to bring your body back into balance.
Are chiropractors just concerned with the spine?
Our interest in the spine is because it covers the major communications conduit between your brain and your body. As a Kirkland chiropractor my job is to locate areas (usually along the spine) that interfere with proper nerve communications to and from your brain. Chiropractic adjustments help restore nervous system integrity. In this way, chiropractic care can affect the function of your entire body.
